I'm patient and my chin is up. I was talking about educating people that he wants to do these things and that his body doesn't allow him. I fully understand that he'll do these things when he is able and it's more about making sure that people know that it's not a matter of him being stubborn or lazy.

I have all the time in the world until he is ready. The blog wasn't about my attitude towards our situation. I don't take anything personal. I'll stick up for my son though every day of the week.

I'm glad to hear that Lily is doing so good now!Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02695243793883254621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6994229328210002092.post-16074432802532927902010-08-06T08:13:11.608-04:002010-08-06T08:13:11.608-04:00Cooper has hypotonia and it is a very difficult di...Cooper has hypotonia and it is a very difficult diagnosis to digest. So far, all of Cooper's genetic tests have come back normal. He has an MRI next Friday. He does weekly physical therapy and is about to start speech therapy. What is the plan for Brayden?

Being a preemie mom is a whole different world! Cooper is 9 months old and we still battle issues everyday! It's hard to watch babies younger than him pass him developementally by leaps and bounds. The prematurity is one thing but add in Hypotonia and you just feel like you're always climbing a mountain with no end in sight. I certainly never volunteered to take that ride :) I am so glad to hear your son made it through. The roads we travel as preemie families will always have more bumps than normal. It's amazing how much our children can handle though! My son continues to amaze me every day. Joining the blogging community has been so nice for me. I'm glad you found me on here. I'm sorry for your loss, it's something that we will never forget about that little baby we imagined raising. I found your blog through A Premature Life......Hi! I found your blog through A Premature Life...

I'm also a preemie mom (and, an angel mommy, I lost a daugther, Lily, at 23 weeks on 8/3/08. I'm very sorry about the loss of your son...) Cooper was born at 31 weeks on 11/1/09. Your description of the nicu world is very accurate...sometimes, I can't believe we all survived!

I wanted to tell you that he is in PT every week for what started out as torticollis and has turned into Hypotonia. I read your previous post about tummy time and I think most preemies probably end up in some early intervention program for one reason or another...it's hard being a preemie mom!

Anyways, best of luck!Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02695243793883254621noreply@blogger.com
